New Season – New Faces |
We are delighted to welcome Murphy, the Comtios Stallion, to our stables in 2008. Murphy is wonderfully friendly and we are delighted at how quickly he is fitting in and learning. His wavy mane is most distinctive and his charm cannot be denied. Meet him personally when you visit the Lakeland Heavy Horse Centre! Another two sweet new faces are Ant and Dec, our miniature Shetland ponies, which we are sure especially the children will adore! They will also be taking the children for rides in a little carriage so that is a further real treat to look forward to. Ready for the new season we also have our own Lakeland Heavy Horse Centre DVD on sale in the shop. At only £9.99 it’s a real bargain, packed full of interesting information about our horses and their individual characters. The DVD shows grooming, plaiting, harnessing etc. and explains the role horses used to play in everyday life. Enjoy again the beautiful scenery and setting of our centre and re-live your enjoyable day with our loveable horses and ponies in the comfort of your own home. The DVD has over 40 minutes of lovely film including a relaxation film and the trailer with Jazz, our “talking” Suffolk Punch. The perfect souvenir or gift! |

Best Foot Forward! |
Learning to put his best foot forward is Jake, the newest Suffolk Punch arrival at the Lakeland Heavy Horse Centre. Born at the centre on 22nd May, 2007, Jake is Beauty’s third son and brother to John Boy and Jazz. After three boys in a row, we hope for a girl next year – only joking, we are pleased to be able to breed these rare horses and are proud to share them with the public.
